What is Clinical Preceptorship?

A is a structured training program at a U.S. dental school where international dentists gain hands-on clinical experience under faculty supervision. Unlike shadowing (passive observation), preceptorships involve active learning: performing procedures on typodonts, learning U.S. dental standards, and receiving faculty evaluation. The best programs offer faculty letter of recommendation opportunities.

    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

What makes your preceptorship different from others?

Three things: (1) Only 2 students per batch — you get real individual attention, (2) Led by a current Associate Professor who can write meaningful faculty LORs, (3) Full CAAPID application support included.

Is the letter of recommendation guaranteed?

No — and that’s intentional. Other programs hand out LORs to everyone, making them worthless. Our LORs are merit-based: impress Dr. Erdfarb with your performance, and you earn a letter that actually carries weight.

Do I need to bring instruments?

No. Unlike other programs that require you to buy or bring instruments (often $500-2,000), we provide everything.

When should I do the preceptorship?

Ideally 3-6 months before submitting your. This gives time for your faculty letter and to integrate the experience into your application.

Can I do preceptorship if I haven't passed INBDE yet?

Yes. Many students complete preceptorship while preparing for. However, you’ll need INBDE before submitting CAAPID.

    Is housing included?

No. We provide accommodation recommendations in the New York area at various price points.

How far in advance should I book?

At least 4 weeks. Popular dates (summer, before application deadlines) fill quickly.
